THE LAST DITCH

Flint reveals why she resigned from Brown cabinet | Metro.co.uk.

You have to smile sometimes. Politicians hold two inconsistent thoughts in their heads so often that they don't notice when they express them both at once;

Ms Flint quit as Europe minister last week, accusing Gordon Brown of
using his women ministers as "female window dressing" and of running a
"two-tier" government.

The MP for Don Valley told GMTV: "The reason I
resigned was because I did not feel that the Prime Minster had full
confidence in my loyalty."

He wasn't far wrong, was he?

    When commenting on another blog under my secret identity of Superficial Sexist I have referred to Caroline Flint as a ‘pretty young thing.’
    I would now like to offer another 3-word description of her, punctuated in diabolical style:
    Not.Very.Bright.

    That just confirms it was right to hit her on the blog.

Tom is a retired international lawyer. He was a partner in a City of London law firm and spent almost twenty years abroad serving clients from all over the world.

Returning to London on retirement in 2011, he was dismayed to discover how much liberty had been lost in the UK while he was away.

He’s a classical liberal (libertarian, if you must) who, like his illustrious namesake, considers that

“…government even in its best state is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one.”
