Sorry Tom, but I could only get about a third of the way through that rant. I agree with every word of it, but it just made me so angry, and reminded me why I had to give up my blog last year. So much anger against New Labour, whilst fully justified, is bad for the soul.
My strategy since last summer has been to keep a low profile, pay as little tax as possible, and to short the markets.
This may be selfish, but what can a humble blogger achieve? At least my new strategy has kept me sane.

Tom is a retired international lawyer. He was a partner in a City of London law firm and spent almost twenty years abroad serving clients from all over the world.
Returning to London on retirement in 2011, he was dismayed to discover how much liberty had been lost in the UK while he was away.

“…government even in its best state is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one.”
