Hmm. Whom to believe? An officer and a gentleman or a petty politician who turned his coat in the hope of office, after many years of failure? Tough call.
I thought the BBC report showed why Quentin Davis is totally unsuited for high public office.
Apparently on his visit to Afghanistan no one asked for more equipment – so he can’t see why this SAS officer is complaining.
Of course we all know that Labour takes in vengeance out on the careers of senior military officers who don’t follow the party line ( see wrangle about the delay ion choosing the new chief of defence staff ). He will only have talked to those people trusted to tell the minister how well things are going.
Any half intelligent man would realise this and not rely on such sources of information, but apparently Quentin does.
