THE LAST DITCH

No travel today. Speranza is resting peacefully in my hotel's basement. I, however, have been shooting photos as part of my class here. You may see more of them, if you wish, here.

I really warmed to your photos. I recall after a day visiting gardens in Madeira I deleted more than half the photos I had taken because they were of my feet, my trouser fly zip, the knees of the person walking behind, the depths of my right nostril and so on. I was worried for a while that I had the dreaded Tibetan shutter-finger wobble syndrome.
More please of your traveller’s tales.

I hope you got the chance to visit St. Stephen’s after the sun had set, it has a special atmosphere.
And also further opportunities for photographs…

Tom is a retired international lawyer. He was a partner in a City of London law firm and spent almost twenty years abroad serving clients from all over the world.

Returning to London on retirement in 2011, he was dismayed to discover how much liberty had been lost in the UK while he was away.

He’s a classical liberal (libertarian, if you must) who, like his illustrious namesake, considers that

“…government even in its best state is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one.”
