Safe in New Orleans. The prettiest approaches of any city I have seen, except Venice – and then only if you arrive in style by water taxi. More updates later, but I am heading out now to eat and listen to music. The valet parker wimped out, so I got to be my own valet parker and see that Speranza is extremely secure. I guess I get the tip now too.
Surely it is the cultural imperative of every valet parker when confronted with a Ferrari California to do this…

Thanks for making me laugh. You think that’s not what I imagine every time I hand over the keys to some kid at an hotel door? This time, I still have the keys so she will have no such adventures in New Orleans.
Interestingly, my motor insurers were keen on valet parking on this trip, whenever practicable – which is only in the big cities. I remind myself of that every time I hand her over.

I decided to stay another day in New Orleans. The food’s great and I need a rest. I have been pushing hard for the last few days and not sleeping enough. I need to recuperate and this seems like a cool place to do it. But unlike most visitors (and unlike me last night) I plan to go to be early and get a good night’s sleep!
