THE LAST DITCH

TUC march: How a family day out turned to mayhem – Telegraph.

Anarchists-london1

I wish journalists were more careful in their presentation of poltical viewpoints. The people who rioted yesterday are not "anarchists". The demonstration was demanding more use of government force to enslave private sector workers for additional days each year in order to support state dependants.

People making such demands are most certainly not "anarchists." If we are going to call them nasty names, let's use the right one – socialist.

Btw, there was, as noted in the article you link to, a delegation of 50 gurkhas at the demonstration, who would have made incredibly short work of the rioters. Perhaps the shops in Oxford Street should have hired them for the day.

A bigger irony is their self avowed ‘Socialist worker’ tag. Every single one I’ve ever met has been an idle self absorbed time pleaser who never did an honest days toil in their life.

This lot were tooled up, organised and targeted. A lot of this was far from random. So who was doing the necessary and why? It all looked rather too convenient.

I’m surprised the shops of Oxford Street don’t hire their own security. I’m sure the EDF could have kept F&M free from invaders, if you’d given them a few crates.

Tom is a retired international lawyer. He was a partner in a City of London law firm and spent almost twenty years abroad serving clients from all over the world.

Returning to London on retirement in 2011, he was dismayed to discover how much liberty had been lost in the UK while he was away.

He’s a classical liberal (libertarian, if you must) who, like his illustrious namesake, considers that

“…government even in its best state is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one.”
