THE LAST DITCH

Link: Jeremy Clarkson clashes with ‘hoodies’ – Telegraph.

Jeremy’s words make the problem with Britain clear:

"I was standing there holding this boy by the scruff of his neck, and instead of worrying about being stabbed I was actually thinking, ‘I’m going to get done for assault if I’m not careful’.

Those who misbehave have the rest of us in fear. It is simply not acceptable. And the crazed education, welfare and social policies of the barking mad ruling party are to blame.

So then. It’s not actually those who misbehave who have us in fear – It is those in authority who protect them that do that…

Met with a teacher friend last night, who is working in one of the toughest areas of Bristol, trying to ‘teach’ or rather contain a bunch of 11 year olds. The effing and total disrepect for any form of authority in this school means that another generation of feral youth is due on the dependancy list in the next six years. My friend is under temporary suspension for frog marching a violent little thug who was screaming abuse at all and sundry to the Headmasters office. Net result thug 1 teacher zero, suspended for committing the cardinal sin of ‘touching a child’

Tom is a retired international lawyer. He was a partner in a City of London law firm and spent almost twenty years abroad serving clients from all over the world.

Returning to London on retirement in 2011, he was dismayed to discover how much liberty had been lost in the UK while he was away.

He’s a classical liberal (libertarian, if you must) who, like his illustrious namesake, considers that

“…government even in its best state is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one.”
