It would be good if they would show the same concern for the nation’s finances by abolishing the utterly pointless office of “Deputy Prime Minister.” Actually, they could usefully demolish his office. Preferably with the old rogue in it.

Returning to London on retirement in 2011, he was dismayed to discover how much liberty had been lost in the UK while he was away.
